With more than twenty years of experience, Katy’s approach to any given problem is simultaneously innovative and intuitive. She genuinely cares about the kids she works with, and provides practical guidance and doable, logical, lighthearted instruction to help them grow.

Parents & Families
There are times when guiding and supporting our children can feel like completing a calculus problem, blindfolded and upside down, on a backwards amusement park ride that never stops. It’s exhausting, and at a time when we need help the most, we find ourselves in places where we feel unsafe, or harshly judged. Katy looks at any situation with the eyes of a professional, but understands with the heart of a mom. She finds a way to help, and leaves no room for judgement.

Life has taught Katy never to say she’s “seen it all,” but with experience as a public school counselor and as the founding director of a small private school, she’s encountered a lot. Educators and helping professionals appreciate Katy’s humor and energetic approach, but trust her perspective because she continues to be “in the trenches” every day.

Group Support Programs
Running social education groups that kids actually want to attend is a challenge! Whether in the school or community setting, creating structure and choosing content that is meaningful and helps kids grow is no easy task!
Katy has created hundreds of social education groups for thousands of kids in schools, private settings, and online. She has developed a program to help teachers, counselors, and providers run better social groups that are more fun for kids to attend, and in turn, get better results.
